BASKETBALL
Driven by passion & love for the game, GoStrong Basketball Club began from the humble streets and playground courts of Subang Jaya.
Founder of GoStrong Basketball Club, Muhamad Izzat Nasruddin loved the idea of playing basketball alongside family and friends. It started with a neighborhood basketball team in Subang Jaya, with the name J.A.G (Just A Game).
Rooted as a streetballer, he went on to become ambassador to brands such as Nike, Adidas, And1, Petronas, Peak, Digi, Nokia and FlyFM.
He was also active in organized-basketball from state-level to open tournaments all across the country. He went on to coach several teams, from universities, schools, clubs and was invited to Jr.NBA (as a coaching staff). He envisions that basketball will grow in Malaysia beyond race, creed or colour.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (2011-2012)
At a later stage in life, he and several friends went on to organise open basketball sessions at Summit USJ, Subang Jaya. Known as Friday Night Lights, several high profile local basketball players, foreigners included, brought a lot of competitive-side that eventually gave birth to the idea of creating a basketball team to compete, initially meant just for fun.
UNEXPECTED CHAMPIONS (2014-19)
Consists of streetballers, retired state-players and experienced vets, the team GoStrong FNL (Friday Night Lights) came to existence and with very little expectations, played competitively in the NCBL (National Community Basketball League). Currently, it is the largest basketball league in Malaysia. By the 2nd and 3rd year, they became the only team to win back-to-back championship for Division 3 and Division 2. By the 5th year, the club qualified to Division 1 Finals, only to lose to previous year champions, ATM. However, newly formed GoStrong Division 4 team took their first championship, as part of development program under Coach Izzat.
Finally in 2018, GoStrong Div 1 (alongside Div 4 team) team achieved success by winning the Championship title, with a continued success also in 2019.
In a tournament of 100 plus teams over 10 years development, GoStrong is the only basketball club that has won every Men Division (1,2,3,4) in NCBL, and will continue to create excellence by breaking new grounds in local and international basketball scene.
